Section 40-23-5 Certain organizations and vendors exempt from payment of state, county,
and municipal sales and use taxes. (a) The Diabetes Trust Fund, Inc., and any of its branches
or agencies, heretofore or hereafter organized and existing in good faith in the State of
Alabama for purposes other than for pecuniary gain and not for individual profit, are exempted
from paying any state, county, or municipal sales or use taxes. (b) The Chilton County Rescue

Section 45-19-245 Levy and collection of tax; disposition of funds. (a) There is imposed
upon every person, firm, or corporation who sells, stores, delivers, uses, or otherwise consumes
tobacco or certain tobacco products in Coosa County a county privilege, license, or excise
tax in the following amounts: (1) Five cents ($0.05) for each package of cigarettes made of

Section 45-41-141.07 Compensation for loss of territory. (a) In the event that any territory
lawfully included within the boundaries of a district shall thereafter be excluded therefrom
at the instance of the governing body of a municipality pursuant to Section 45-41-141.02,

Section 31-9-10 Local emergency management organizations; emergency powers of political
subdivisions. (a) Each political subdivision of this state is hereby authorized and directed
to establish a local organization for emergency management in accordance with the state emergency
management plan and program and may confer or authorize the conferring, upon members of the
auxiliary police, the powers of peace officers, subject to such restrictions as shall be imposed.
The governing body of the political subdivision is authorized to appoint a director, who shall
have direct responsibility for the organization, administration, and operation of such local

Section 45-32-242.02 Levy of additional tax. Pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment
No. 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, the Greene County Commission may levy, in

Section 45-49-140.10 Service charges - Levy and collection. (a) The expense of establishing
and maintaining a district shall be paid for by the proceeds of a service charge which shall
be levied and collected in an amount sufficient to pay the expense. The service charge shall
be levied upon and collected from persons and properties served by the system. Such charge
shall be a personal obligation of the owner of the property served by the system, and to secure
the collection of the charge there shall be a lien against the property in favor of the district,
which lien shall be enforceable by sale thereof in the same manner in which the foreclosure
of a municipal assessment for public improvements is authorized. (b) A property owner who

booking fees. (a)(1) In Calhoun County, in any case in which court costs are assessed in a
municipal court in the county, there shall be assessed and collected, in the same manner as

fees, commission greyhound wagering fees, and other fees, commissions, and moneys, including
fines and forfeitures, to which a commission shall be entitled under the provisions of this

set out in this section shall only be available as provided herein upon a proclamation
from the Governor or Legislature made pursuant to Section 31-9-8, and a proclamation
made by the local governing body in the county or municipality affected by the disaster. The
following rules shall apply for all distributions from the recovery fund for purposes set
out in this section: (1) Distributions may not be used for state emergency response
and relief efforts, except as determined appropriate pursuant to rules adopted by the committee
