Section 45-37-121.15 Appointments. (a) Vacancies in the classified service shall be filled
either by transfer, promotion, appointment, reappointment, or demotion. Whenever a vacancy
in an existing position is to be filled by appointment, the appointing authority shall submit
to the director a statement of the title of the position, and if requested by the director
to do so, the duties of the position, and desired qualifications of the person to be appointed,
and a request that the director certify to the appointing authority the names of persons eligible
for appointment to the position. The director shall thereupon certify to the appointing authority
the ranking eligibles, correlating to the 10 highest test scores from the appropriate register,
and if more than one vacancy is to be filled, the ranking names of the next highest test score

Section 12-15-215 Disposition of delinquent children or children in need of supervision generally.
(a) If the juvenile court finds on proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based upon competent,
material, and relevant evidence, that a child committed the acts by reason of which the child
is alleged to be delinquent or in need of supervision, it may proceed immediately to hear
evidence as to whether the child is in need of care or rehabilitation and to file its findings
thereon. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, a finding that the child has committed
an act which constitutes a felony is sufficient to sustain a finding that the child is in
need of care or rehabilitation. If the juvenile court finds that the child is not in need
of care or rehabilitation, it shall dismiss the proceedings and discharge the child from any

Section 20-2-190 Penalties; sale of ephedrine, etc.; Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force. (a) Any
person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor chemical
violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting requirements

Section 16-6D-9 Tax credit claims; administrative accountability; verification of requirements;
rules and procedures. (a)(1) An individual taxpayer who files a state income tax return and
is not claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer, a taxpayer subject to the corporate income
tax levied by Chapter 18 of Title 40, an Alabama S corporation as defined in Section 40-18-160,
or a Subchapter K entity as defined in Section 40-18-1 may claim a credit for a contribution

Section 25-4-51 Rates of contributions, etc., by employers. (a) Contributions. Except as hereinafter

Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad
valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current
basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees.
(1) Ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall become due and payable on the first day of the
registration renewal month of the owner, the date the motor vehicle enters the State of Alabama,
the date the motor vehicle is removed from the inventory of a dealer, or the date on which
