Section 45-8-81.01 Courthouse security. (a) In Calhoun County, in any case in which
court costs are assessed in the district and circuit court of the county, there shall be assessed
and collected as other costs and charges are collected an additional court cost in the amount
of five dollars ($5) which shall be used solely for security at the Calhoun County Courthouse.

Section 45-47-80.01 Additional court costs - Domestic violence cases. In addition to
all other costs and charges in circuit, district, and municipal court cases in Marion County,
there shall be levied and assessed a court cost of twenty-five dollars ($25) in all cases

the following: (1) The financial restraints existing in the State General Fund budget have
resulted in a shortfall to the Unified Judicial System that has caused the layoff of many
judicial employees. In Jackson County, three employees in the circuit clerk's office who were
scheduled for layoff have been temporarily retained with alternate funding other than funds
appropriated to the Unified Judicial System; however, this alternate funding cannot be relied
