Subject to the approval of a majority of the electors voting at a referendum as provided for herein, the County Commission of Blount County may, upon a majority vote of the members, levy, in addition to all other taxes, including, but not limited to, county and municipal gross receipts license taxes, a privilege license tax in an amount up to one percent of gross sales and use on categories defined by the Alabama Department of Revenue as general, amusement, and vending. Section 45-24-20.02 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; collection; records. (a) This section shall only apply to Dallas County. (b) For purposes of this section, the term liquor shall have the same meaning as ascribed to the term in subdivision (15) of Section 28-3-1. Section 11-3-11.3 Collection of local taxes - Department of Revenue. (a) Counties may, upon request of the county commission, engage the Department of Revenue to collect and administer any county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other local taxes for which there is a corresponding state levy.
