Section 45-45-233.01 Jail store; telephone and messaging system; Sheriff's Jail Account. (a) The sheriff of Madison County may operate a jail store and a telephone and messaging system for inmates within the confines of the Madison County Jail. The jail store and the telephone and messaging system shall each be operated to serve the needs of the county jail population. (b) All funds collected under subsection (a) shall be deposited in any bank located in Madison County, to be selected by the sheriff, into a fund known as the Sheriff's Jail Account. Any profits realized in the operation of the jail store and the telephone and messaging system may be drawn upon by the sheriff of Madison County, or his or her appointed agent, and used exclusively for law enforcement purposes in the public interest, at the discretion of the sheriff. (a) The two hundred dollar ($200) filing fee paid by a sex offender who petitions the court for relief pursuant to Sections 15-20A-16, 15-20A-23, 15-20A-24, 15-20A-25, or 15-20A-34 shall be distributed as follows: (1) Fifty dollars ($50) to the Circuit Clerk's Restitution Recovery Fund. (a) A sex offender who is convicted of any offense specified in this chapter, in addition to any imprisonment or fine, or both, and in addition to any other fees, costs, and assessments, imposed for the commission of the underlying offense, shall be punished by a fine of two hundred fifty dollars ($250). Section 45-2-80.60 Assessment for persons incarcerated in the Baldwin County jail. (a) In Baldwin County, additional court costs in the amount of up to twenty dollars ($20) per day to be set by the sheriff shall be assessed and collected against each person incarcerated in the Baldwin County jail. The court costs assessed pursuant to this section shall be in addition to any other court costs or other costs and charges imposed on persons incarcerated in the Baldwin County jail not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000). Section 15-20A-22 Adult sex offender - Registration fee. (a) An adult sex offender shall pay a registration fee in the amount of ten dollars ($10) to each registering agency where the adult sex offender resides beginning with the first quarterly registration on or after July 1, 2011, and at each quarterly registration thereafter. (a) In all criminal, quasi-criminal, and traffic cases in district, circuit, and municipal courts in Chilton County, there shall be taxed as costs an additional ten dollars ($10) in each case.
