Section 45-47-71 Construction and maintenance of certain driveways, gravel roads, etc. (a) The County Commission of Marion County is hereby authorized and empowered to construct and maintain driveways for schools, churches, and church owned cemeteries, located within the county, at county expense. (b) The county commission is further authorized and empowered to construct and maintain any gravel road or driveway, exclusive of bridges, leading from a public road to the residence of an abutting landowner for a distance of one-fourth of a mile. (c) The actual cost of operating and constructing the gravel road or driveway shall be borne and paid by the homeowner. The county commission is hereby authorized and empowered to require the posting of a cash bond to insure the payment of the actual cost. Section 23-1-106 Effect of article upon outstanding financial obligations incurred by counties; disposition of funds received by state from counties for road and bridge work therein.
