Section 11-49B-7 Powers of authority. The authority shall exercise, subject to this chapter, the following powers and duties necessary to the discharge of its powers and duties in corporate form: (1) To have succession by its corporate name for the duration of time, which may be perpetual, subject to the provisions of Section 11-49B-19 specified in its certificate of incorporation. (2) To sue and be sued in its own name in civil suits and actions and to defend suits against it. (3) To adopt and make use of a corporate seal and to alter the seal at pleasure. Section 34-1A-7 Licenses - Required. (a) Effective January 1, 1998, it shall be unlawful for any person or business entity to engage in a business regulated by this chapter in this state without a current valid license or in violation of this chapter and applicable rules and regulations of the board. Section 34-24-521 Definitions. In this compact, the following terms have the following meanings: (a) BYLAWS. With the discretion of the director of personnel, vacancies in positions shall be filled, in so far as practicable by promotion from among employees holding positions in the classified service. Procedures for hearings and appeals under this article shall be made as herein provided and in accordance with such general rules and regulations as the regulatory authority may prescribe.
