Section 45-45A-32 Board membership. (a) The City of Huntsville Board of Education shall be elected from districts. The number of board districts shall be the same as the number of districts for the Huntsville City Council. Each board district, by district number and by geographic boundaries, shall be the same as a corresponding district for the Huntsville City Council. (b) Candidates for the board shall meet the same district residency requirements required of a candidate for the Huntsville City Council. The election of board members, at the discretion and direction of the board, may be staggered provided that the election of board members shall be conducted on the same election days provided for the election of members of the Huntsville City Council or for the election of the Mayor of Huntsville.
