Section 45-41-100 Election of county board of education. (a) The several members of the Lee County Board of Education shall hereafter be elected by only those qualified electors in the county who reside outside of the city limits of any municipality in the county that has its own school system. (b) Nothing in this section shall affect the unexpired term of any present member of the Lee County Board of Education. (c) The provisions of this section are supplemental and shall be construed in pari materia with all other laws relating to the Lee County Board of Education; however, those laws or parts of law in direct conflict or inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 16-11-3 Election; terms of office; vacancies. Annually at the regular meetings of the city council or commission in April the council or commission shall elect a member or members of the board of education to succeed those whose term or terms of office expire that year. Members of the city board of education shall assume office at the next regular meeting of the city board of education in June following their appointment.
