Section 8-19A-4 Exemptions. The provisions of this chapter do not apply to: (1) A person engaging
in commercial telephone solicitation where the solicitation is an isolated transaction and
not done in the course of a pattern of repeated transactions of like nature. (2) A person
making calls for religious, charitable, political, educational, or other noncommercial purposes
or a person soliciting for a nonprofit corporation if that corporation is properly registered
with the Secretary of State and is included within the exemption of the Alabama Revenue Code
or Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or rural electric cooperatives formed under

Section 45-44-241 Ad valorem taxation for educational purposes. (a)(1) Pursuant to subsection
(f) of Amendment 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, and a resolution heretofore adopted
by the County Commission of Macon County after a public hearing, the county commission is
hereby authorized to levy, in addition to any and all other taxes heretofore levied, an additional
ad valorem tax in the amount of 10 mills on each dollar of taxable property in the county.
The revenues from the tax shall be paid to the county board of education to be used for general
educational purposes. (2) The increase in the rate of tax as provided in this subsection is
subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote on the proposed increase

the operation of the public schools in School District One, Madison County, the governing

Section 10A-3-7.11 Procedure in liquidation of corporation by court. (a) In proceedings to
liquidate the assets and affairs of a nonprofit corporation, the court shall have the power
to issue restraining orders or injunctions, to appoint a receiver or receivers pendente lite,
with the powers and duties as the court, from time to time, may direct, and to take other
proceedings as may be requisite to preserve the corporate assets wherever situated, and carry
