Section 45-20-100.01 Qualifications and election of board members. (a) Commencing with the next term of office, each member of the Covington County Board of Education, at the time of qualifying for office and during the entire term of office, shall reside within that portion of the county lying outside of the corporate limits of any city in the county served by a separate city board of education, and shall be elected by the qualified electors who reside within that portion of the county. (b) Nothing in this section shall affect the unexpired term of any member serving on the board on March 29, 2017.
