Section 22-21-186 Corporation tax exempt. All property, real, personal or mixed, that may be owned by the corporation and the corporation itself shall be exempt from all state, county and municipal taxation, including, without limitation, income, excise, privilege and license taxation. Further, the gross proceeds of sales of tangible personal property to or by the corporation and the storage, use or other consumption by the corporation of tangible personal property, as well as the gross proceeds from the lease or rental of tangible personal property by or to the corporation, shall be exempt from all such state, county and municipal taxation and from the measure of any such taxation imposed on others. Section 45-37-245.01 Levy of tax for promotion of Jefferson County as convention, sporting, and visitors' destination. (a) This section shall apply to Jefferson County. (b) In addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied a privilege or license tax, in the amount hereinafter prescribed against every person, organization, or other entity engaging in the county in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodging, or accommodations, in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist court, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished for a consideration.
