Section 45-30A-50.03 Organization of board. The personnel program established by this part shall be administered by the board. The board shall consist of five members who are residents of the city and who shall be appointed by the governing body. No member of the board shall be employed by or be an official of the city, nor hold any elective public office. The composition of the board shall be designated as Place No. 1, Place No. 2, Place No. 3, Place No. 4, and Place No. 5. The person appointed as a member of the board in Place No. 1 shall serve a term of two years; the person so appointed for Place No. 2 shall serve a term of four years; the person appointed for Place No. 3 shall serve a term of six years. Section 16-11-3 Election; terms of office; vacancies. Annually at the regular meetings of the city council or commission in April the council or commission shall elect a member or members of the board of education to succeed those whose term or terms of office expire that year.
