Section 45-3-244.03 County privilege, license, or excise tax - Tax stamps. The tax hereby authorized
shall be paid by affixing stamps as is required for the payment of the tax imposed by Section
40-25-1 through Section 40-25-28. The State Department of Revenue shall have the same duties
relative to the preparation and sale of stamps to evidence the payment of such tax that it
has relative to the preparation and sale of stamps under those sections and may exercise the
same powers and perform the same duties in the same manner relative to the collection of the

Section 45-32-242.01 Levy of tax for certain purposes. (a) In Greene County, in addition to
any and all other taxes heretofore levied, the county commission is hereby authorized to levy
and impose an additional ad valorem tax in the amount of 25 mills on each dollar of taxable
property: (1) Thirty-four percent of the tax shall be earmarked to the county general fund
to be used for general county purposes. (2) Forty percent of the tax shall be distributed

Section 45-48-242.01 Sales tax on wholesale and retail price of spirituous or vinous liquors.
Pursuant to the authority granted in Section 104 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, in
Marshall County, in lieu of the tax levied by Act 89-797 (Acts 1989, p. 1596), there is hereby
levied and shall be collected a sales tax at the rate of five percent upon the wholesale and
retail price, excluding taxes, of spirituous or vinous liquors sold at retail or wholesale
in the county by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, its stores, or its successors or assigns.
The county tax herein levied shall be collected by the board, its successors or assigns, from
the wholesale and retail purchaser at the time the wholesale or retail price is paid. The

Section 45-48-247.02 Violations. It shall be unlawful for any dealer, storer, or distributor
engaged in or continuing in Marshall County in the business for which the tax is hereby levied
to fail or refuse to add to the price and collect from the purchaser the amount due on account
of the tax herein provided or to refund or offer to refund all or part of the amount collected
or absorb or advertise directly or indirectly the absorption of the tax or any portion thereof.
