Section 45-19-82.23 Assessment and collection of fees; disposition of funds. Except as provided in this subpart, the judge of probate may charge and collect the same fees that are provided for by law. For the performance of duties relative to the recording of the transfer of the ownership of motor vehicles as prescribed in this code, the judge of probate shall charge and collect an additional fee of five dollars ($5). All fees shall be the property of the county and shall be paid to the county general fund. Section 12-18-87 Benefits. (a) Judges' retirement benefits. - The annual retirement benefit payable to a probate judge retiring pursuant to subdivisions (2), (3), (4), and (5) of Section 12-18-84 shall be 75 percent of the base sum or salary upon which such judge is paying the percentage as provided in subsection (a) or subsection (b) of Section 12-18-82 immediately prior to retirement. Section 45-23-11.01 Judge of probate; revenue commissioner; sheriff. (a) Commencing March 1, 2005, the Judge of Probate, Revenue Commissioner, and Sheriff of Dale County shall receive an additional expense allowance in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000) per annum, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law. Section 11-2A-3 Additional compensation. Section 45-21-84.05 Certificate of assessment; issuance of license tag; valuation; municipal taxes. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation residing in or owning a motor vehicle which is principally used in Crenshaw County who desires to operate a motor vehicle on the public highways of Alabama shall first be required to pay ad valorem taxes and sales taxes to the judge of probate.
