Section 45-31-120 Definitions. The following words, terms, and phrases, wherever used
herein, shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, and
shall include the singular as well as the plural: (1) ALLOCATION. The assignment of positions
to a class on the basis of the nature, difficulty and responsibility, or work of the positions.
(2) APPOINTING AUTHORITY. The officials or board designated by resolution of the governing
body as being the official or board having authority to fill vacancies in a specified class,

Section 16-24B-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. The chief administrative officer of the

Section 16-24C-4 Tenure of teachers; nonprobationary status of classified employees.
No action may be proposed or approved based upon personal or political reasons on the part
of the employer, chief executive officer, or governing board. A teacher shall attain tenure,

Section 36-1-9 Trained employees who volunteer for American Red Cross operations allowed
paid leave. (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the "Disaster
Services Volunteer Leave Act of 1995." (b) As used in this section, the following
