Section 41-10-424 Board of directors. (a) The authority shall be governed by a board of directors, constituted as provided for in this section. All powers of the authority shall be exercised by said board or pursuant to its authorization. The directors shall elect officers of the board. The presence of a majority of the members of the board of directors, or their designees, shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. No vacancy on the board of directors or the voluntary disqualification or abstention of any director thereof shall impair the right of a quorum of the board of directors to act. In Jefferson County, any county planning commission established under Act No. 344, H. 775, 1947 Regular Session (General Acts of 1947, p. 217) or Act No. 581, H. 1012, 1947 Regular Session (General Acts of 1947, p. 404) shall consist of 15 members; three designated and 12 appointed members. Within 60 days after October 2, 1986, the Jefferson County Commission shall divide the county into six districts with each district containing an approximately equal number of persons residing in unincorporated territory. Section 37-15-10.1 Underground Damage Prevention Authority. (a) The Underground Damage Prevention Authority is created for the purpose of enforcing this chapter and for reviewing penalty provisions and the adequacy of the enforcement process.
