Section 45-33-233 Hale County Sheriff Service of Process Serving Fund. (a) This section shall apply only to Hale County. (b) The Hale County Sheriff Service of Process Serving Fund is created and hereinafter referred to as the fund. (c) The Sheriff of Hale County, except for warrants for arrest, may contract with or enter into agreement with a private, public, or governmental entity for the purpose of service of process. (d)(1) In addition to all existing charges, fees, judgments, and costs of court, the clerk, sheriff, or other appropriate court official in the civil and criminal division of the district and circuit courts of Hale County, shall assess a service of process fee of ten dollars ($10) per document and the fees shall be paid into the fund. (a) Notices of the requirement of the attendance of jury service in the Circuit Court of Henry County may be served by first class mail or may be served as provided by the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure and this code.
