Section 12-15-104 Advisory boards. (a) The presiding juvenile court judge may appoint not less than five nor more than 25 citizens of the county, known for their interest in the welfare of children, who shall serve without compensation, to constitute and be the advisory board of the juvenile court in matters relating to the welfare of children. The membership of the advisory board shall be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban or rural, and economic diversity of the county. The advisory board shall organize by electing officers and by adopting bylaws, rules, and regulations for its government as it shall deem best for the purposes of this chapter. The board shall hold office at the pleasure of the juvenile court or of the judge thereof.
