Section 45-16-140.09 Regulatory control and supervision; forfeiture of funds. With regard to the collection of the fees levied by this article, including, but not limited to, the application for and granting of exemptions, the Coffee County Commission shall exercise such regulatory control and supervision over and may adopt rules and regulations as may be needed to meet the requirements of this article. At the discretion of the Coffee County Commission, any eligible fire department or contracted emergency medical service squad that fails to comply with this article or any rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this article may be deemed to have forfeited all or part of the funds generated by this article for such period of time as may be set. Funds paid to eligible fire departments and rescue squads shall only be expended for fire protection and emergency medical and rescue services including training, supplies, and equipment.
