Section 45-18-11 Authorization of payment for moral and equitable claim. (a) Mr. Willie Lee Powell was an employee of the Conecuh County Commission in 1967, and, at that time we severely injured during the official course of his employment, and as a result thereof is unable to carry on his duties with the county road department. (b) The County Commission of Conecuh County in recognition of the moral obligation owed by the county may pay, from the general funds of the county, a sum up to the amount of three hundred fifty dollars ($350) per month to Willie Lee Powell so long as he shall remain unemployed due to his injury sustained while employed with the county. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the county commission may pay from the county general fund to Willie Lee Powell additional amounts beyond three hundred fifty dollars ($350), so long as the additional funds are available and so long as Powell remains unemployed due to that injury.
