Section 45-49-252.01 Powers and duties of administrative department. (a) The director, or his

Section 45-41-243 Taxes and fees authorized. (a) The Lee County Commission is hereby authorized
and empowered to levy, at their discretion, and collect or provide for the collection of additional
taxes and fees outside the city limits of Auburn and Opelika as follows: (1) A cigarette tax.
(2) A beer tax. (3) A soft drink tax. (4) A solid waste disposal fee or a garbage fee on residents
of the county who do not contract for private garbage disposal. Such fee shall be collected
by use of the property tax books. Any owner of rental property shall pay the fee on any property

Section 45-49-252.14 Certain acts and practices prohibited. (a) It shall be unlawful to dispose
of solid waste except by sanitary landfill, incineration, recycling process, or other method
approved by the director, consistent with applicable state law, operated by the county or
permitted and possessing certificates of need as required herein. (b) It shall be unlawful
to allow an unauthorized accumulation of rubbish, yard trash, garbage, and putrescible waste
on any residential or commercial premises not engaged in a salvaging operation. (c) It shall

Section 22-22B-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) PROGRAM FOR THE

Section 22-27-23 Special pledges for payment of principal and interest on warrants. (a) The
county commission of the county issuing any such warrants may, in its discretion, assign and
specially pledge, for the payment of the principal of and interest on such warrants, so much
as may be necessary for said payment of any one or more of the following, or any part thereof:
(1) The proceeds from the general annual ad valorem tax of one half of one percent which the
county is authorized to levy without reference to the purpose thereof under the provisions

Section 22-27-7 Supervision and regulatory control; rules and regulations; penalty for violation
