Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal within the executive branch of government, this chapter provides taxpayers with a means of resolving controversies that insures both the appearance and the reality of due process and fundamental fairness. The tax tribunal shall provide hearings in all tax matters, except those specified by statute, and render decisions and orders relating thereto. (a) A merger of two or more entities, whether the other entity or entities are the same or another form of entity, may be accomplished as provided in this section. (1) CORPORATIONS. a. (a) In Cleburne County, any county health officer or administrator is hereby authorized to issue an official death certificate in any case within the county, except where an autopsy is required. Data obtained from the attending physician or funeral director shall be kept on file for one year following the death for the purpose of issuing such death certificate. Section 45-15-80.02 Enforcement of controlled substance laws. (a) In Cleburne County, in addition to all other fees or costs levied, there shall be taxed as costs the sum of five dollars ($5) in any criminal proceeding arising out of the violation of drug and controlled substances, whether felonious or misdemeanor, and, in any court located in the county, whether inferior court, municipal court, district court, or circuit court and whether such proceeding is filed in or arising in any of the courts, or on appeal, certiorari, or otherwise to the district court or the circuit court.
