Section 32-6-550 Issuance of distinctive license plates; duration; fees; design. (a) Upon application
to the judge of probate or license commissioner, compliance with motor vehicle registration
and licensing laws, payment of regular fees required by law for license plates for private
passenger or pleasure motor vehicles, and payment of an additional annual fee of fifteen dollars
($15), owners of motor vehicles who are residents of Alabama shall be issued distinctive "Proud
of Our Indian Heritage" license plates, and also owners of motor vehicles who are residents
of Alabama shall be issued distinctive "Alabama Poultry Foundation" license plates

Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved,
adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes.
The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local
tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases
and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Promote uniformity or compatibility in significant

Section 40-12-264 Time limit for purchase of tags or plates; dealer plates; manufacturer plates.
(a) Any person, including a motor vehicle dealer, acquiring a new or used motor vehicle may
be granted a grace period of 20 calendar days from date of acquisition to procure a license
tag or plate. (b) Notwithstanding Section 32-6-65, a new or used motor vehicle dealer who

Section 45-3-84.140 Additional special transaction fee. In addition to all other fees and costs
provided by law, a special transaction fee not exceeding three dollars ($3) shall be paid
to the Barbour County Judge of Probate when any public business other than the issuance of

collect a reasonable fee which is adequate to cover the necessary handling, packaging, and

Section 45-45-200.01 Special issuance fee. (a)(1) In Madison County, the county commission
is authorized to impose, by resolution of the commission, a special issuance fee not to exceed
seventy-five cents ($.75) to be collected by the license director on each motor vehicle registration,
boat renewal or registration, manufactured home registration, business license application,
or other instrument registered or application applied for in the office of the license director.
