Section 45-45-233.35 Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission. (a) There is hereby created a body to be known as the Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission, hereinafter called the commission. The commission shall be composed of eight persons, including the following: The Sheriff of Madison County, the District Attorney of the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit, a circuit judge from the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit to be appointed by the presiding judge of the circuit, a judge of the District Court of Madison County to be appointed by the presiding district court judge in Madison County, a person appointed by the Madison County Commission, a person appointed by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, the Circuit Court Clerk of Madison County, and one court administrator of the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit. Section 16-6D-8 Tax credits; Failing Schools Income Tax Credit Account. (a) To provide educational flexibility and state accountability for students in failing schools: (1) For tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2013, an Alabama income tax credit is made available to the parent of a student enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing school to help offset the cost of transferring the student to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parent's choice. The income tax credit shall be an amount equal to 80 percent of the average annual state cost of attendance for a public K-12 student during the applicable tax year or the actual cost of attending a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school, whichever is less. (a) An interested person may petition the court to order protective placement or other protective services for an adult in need of protective services. No protective placement or other protective services may be ordered unless there is a determination by the court that the person is unable to provide for his or her own protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse.
