Section 45-37A-40 Board of education. (a) Beginning with the municipal elections in 2002, a school board for the City of Bessemer, Alabama, is established and shall be elected in 2002, and every four years thereafter. The board shall be called the Bessemer City Board of Education. The board shall be composed of seven members, with one member being elected from each of the districts from which the Bessemer City Council are elected, by a majority of the qualified electors voting who reside in the respective districts.
