Section 45-45A-35.04 Modification of ad valorem taxation rate - Referendum; implementation.
The modification in the rate at which the Amendment 8 school tax may be levied and collected
in the city pursuant to this part is subject to the favorable vote of a majority of the qualified
electors residing in the city who vote on the proposed change at a special election called
and held for that purpose pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment 373 and, in respect of any
county in which the city is then situated, the corresponding reduction prior to or contemporaneously
with the levy, of the rates of the special school ad valorem taxes levied in any part of the
city therein for public school purposes, all to the end that the Amendment 8 school tax may

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. No later than October
1, 2018, the Department of Revenue shall send notice to every county or municipality levying
a sales, use, rental, or lodgings tax regarding the rates of such taxes according to the records
held by the department. Each county and municipality shall notify the department of an existing
erroneous rate published by the department no later than December 1, 2018. The county or municipality
notifying the department of such rate error shall send written confirmation, on county or
municipal letterhead, to the department listing the erroneous rate published by the department
and the corrected rate along with supporting ordinances, resolutions, or documentation. If

Section 11-51-42 Levy of taxes; certification and delivery to county tax assessor of copy of
ordinance or resolution levying taxes. It shall be the duty of the council, board of commissioners,
or other governing body of any such municipality during the month of May of each year, by

Section 40-7-33 Book of assessments - Required; form; use of assessment lists in lieu of book.
The tax assessor must make and enter in an assessment book, suitably ruled and substantially
bound, in forms as prescribed by the Department of Revenue, a condensed statement of all assessments
made during each tax year, showing in separate columns the name of the owner, a description
of the real estate and improvements thereon, the assessed value thereof and the value of the
