Section 45-2-244.182 Exemptions. There shall be exempted from the computation of any tax due
hereunder all of the following: (1) The gross proceeds accruing from the leasing or renting
of film or visual entertainment devices as defined by Section 45-2-244.160, to a lessee who
charges, or proposes to charge, admission for viewing same. (2) The gross proceeds accruing
from any charge in respect of the use of docks or docking facilities furnished for boats or
other craft operated on waterways. (3) The gross proceeds accruing from any charge made by

Section 45-49A-10.05 Power to borrow money and issue revenue bonds. (a) The corporation shall
have the power to borrow money and to issue revenue bonds as evidence of any money borrowed,
which bonds shall be payable solely from the revenues derived from the activities and enterprises
in which the corporation is hereby authorized to engage. As security for any money so borrowed,
together with interest thereon, and any obligations incurred or assumed, the corporation in

Section 45-5-247 Levy of tax authorized. (a) In addition to all other taxes of every kind now
imposed by law, the Blount County Commission may levy a privilege or license tax upon every
person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of renting or furnishing any room or
rooms, lodging, or accommodations to a transient in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist camp, tourist
cabin, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished
to transients for a consideration. The amount of the tax shall be equal to four percent of
the charge for the rooms, lodgings, or accommodations, including the charge for use or rental
of personal property and services furnished in the room. There is exempted from the tax authorized

Section 11-101A-8 Powers of authority. (a) In addition to all other powers granted elsewhere
in this chapter, and subject to the express provisions of its certificate of incorporation,

Section 11-89-1 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall

Section 11-97-17 Prior approval of utility services agreements and related agreements with
governmental users; notice and public hearing. (a) No utility services agreement or related
agreements in connection with the acquisition, construction, equipment, or operation of any

Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal; household
exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or municipal

Section 22-28-21 Air pollution emergencies. (a) Any other provisions of law to the contrary
notwithstanding, if the director finds that a generalized condition of air pollution exists
and that it creates an emergency requiring immediate action to protect human health or safety,
the director shall order persons causing or contributing to the air pollution to reduce or
discontinue immediately the emission of air contaminants, and such order shall fix a place
and time, not later than 24 hours thereafter, for a hearing to be held before the Environmental
