statutes with respect to payment, assessment, and collection of the state lodging tax, making
of reports and keeping and preserving records, interest after due date of tax, or otherwise;

Section 40-9-60 Certificates of exemption for persons or companies exempt from sales, use,
and lodging taxes. (a) All persons or companies, including, but not limited to, those cited
in this chapter, other than governmental entities, which have statutory exemption from the

Section 45-37-243.40 Levy of tax; payment; violations. (a) This section shall only apply to
Jefferson County. (b) As used in this section, state sales tax means the tax imposed by the
state sales and use tax statutes, including, but not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2,
