Section 45-35-83.60 Application; taxes and fees; issuance of tags and licenses. (a) On or after September 1st each year, the Judge of Probate of Houston County, if he or she elects to do so, may mail an application in the form and containing the information hereinafter provided to all owners of motor vehicles listed as such in the motor vehicle license records, including transfers, in the probate office or, at his or her option, to such owners as request that such application be mailed to them. (b) The application shall be on a form to be provided by the State Department of Revenue. (a) Each person operating a refinery or terminal in Alabama shall prepare and provide to the driver of every highway vehicle receiving motor fuel at the facility a shipping document setting out on its face the destination state as represented to the terminal operator by the shipper or the shipper's agent. Failure to comply with this subsection may result in a department imposed penalty of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), to be multiplied by the sum of the current violation plus prior violations of this subsection. Section 32-6-62.1 Temporary registration and license plates for certain vehicles permanently licensed in another jurisdiction. (a) Any person who takes delivery within this state of a new passenger vehicle or new truck manufactured within this state of a gross weight not exceeding 8,000 pounds, from the manufacturer or an affiliated corporation, and if the vehicle is to be permanently licensed in another jurisdiction, upon application to the judge of probate or license commissioner of the county in which the manufacturer is located, upon providing proof of ownership of the vehicle, and upon payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25), shall be issued a temporary metal license plate to be affixed to the vehicle and a temporary registration certificate.
