Section 28-4-291 Disposition of proceeds from sale of such property forfeited to state. Unless
otherwise provided by law, the proceeds of the sale of any such property forfeited to the
state, whether sold by court order or by an officer under advertisement, shall, after paying
all expenses in the action, or of advertisement, as the case may be, including the costs of
seizure and of keeping the property pending the proceedings, be applied as follows: One half
of the proceeds shall be paid into the general fund of the county in which the property is
seized, and the other one half shall be paid into the law-enforcement fund to be used and
applied on the enforcement of state laws under the supervision and control of the Governor;
provided, that when such property shall be seized by an officer of a municipality, one half

Section 30-2-51 Allowance upon grant of divorce; certain property not considered; retirement
benefits. (a) If either spouse has no separate estate or if it is insufficient for the maintenance
of a spouse, the judge, upon granting a divorce, at his or her discretion, may order to a
spouse an allowance out of the estate of the other spouse, taking into consideration the value
thereof and the condition of the spouse's family. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the judge
may not take into consideration any property acquired prior to the marriage of the parties
or by inheritance or gift unless the judge finds from the evidence that the property, or income
produced by the property, has been used regularly for the common benefit of the parties during

Section 40-4-5 Schedule of fees. For making the demand on the taxpayer for his list of property
to be returned and for each return of property to "owner unknown," to be charged
to the taxpayer or property assessed and collected with the taxes, the assessor shall be entitled

part, the municipal governing body is hereby authorized to create by ordinance one or more
specific areas as enterprise zones which the governing body finds are areas of pervasive poverty,

Section 11-53A-24 Failure to comply with notice to abate. (a) If the owner fails, neglects,
or refuses to comply with the notice to abate the nuisance, there shall be a public hearing
before the city council. Notice of the hearing shall be given to the owner at least five days
