Section 34-14A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ADVISORY COUNCIL. The Alabama Construction Trade Advisory Council. (2) BOARD. The Home Builders Licensure Board. (3) COST OF THE UNDERTAKING. The total cost of the materials, labor, supervision, overhead, and profit. (4) HOMEOWNER. A person who owns and resides in or intends to reside in a structure constructed or remodeled by a licensee of the board, or who contracts with a licensee for the purchase, construction, repair, improvement, or reimprovement of a structure to be used as a residence. (5) IMPROVEMENT. Any site-built addition or enhancement attached to or detached from a residence or structure for use and enjoyment by the homeowner. (6) INACTIVE LICENSE. Section 45-17A-50.10 Finality of disciplinary action; record of hearing and determination; procedures of hearings; review. (a) No disciplinary action taken against a regular status employee, except a head of a department, that involves suspension without pay, demotion, dismissal, or any other action as defined by the implementing rules and regulations shall become final until the board holds a hearing on the action, if the employee appeals the action in writing to the board within 10 calendar days of receipt of written notification of the action to be taken by the mayor. Section 45-49A-62.02 Abatement and removal of inoperable motor vehicles from private property as public nuisances. (a) For purposes of this section, the term inoperable motor vehicle shall mean any motor vehicle, trailer, recreational vehicle, camper, or semi-trailer that has remained on private property and in view of the general public for 30 days or any greater period fixed by the municipality and is inoperable in that one or more of its major mechanical components including, but not limited to, engine, transmission, drive train, or wheels, are missing or are not functional, or the vehicle otherwise constitutes a nuisance. (a) If a dealer desires to make a change in ownership by the sale of the business assets, a stock transfer, or otherwise, the dealer shall give the manufacturer or distributor written notice at least 15 business days before the closing, including all supporting documentation as may be reasonably required by the manufacturer or distributor to determine if an objection to the sale may be made. Section 34-24-166 Refusal, revocation, or suspension - Grounds; rules; disciplinary action.
