Section 43-2-742 Time and manner of filing claims - Claims verified in another state. When a claim against such estate is verified by the oath of a person out of this state, but within the United States, such oath may be made before a notary public, justice of the peace or any judge or clerk of a court of record or a commissioner of such state. When made before a justice of the peace, it must be certified that such officer was a justice of the peace and that his attestation is genuine, by some judge of a court of record or a commissioner of said state; but, when made before either of the other officers specified, no other proof of the taking of such oath is necessary than the certificate of such officer. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
