Section 43-2-850 Proceedings for review of employment of agents and compensation of personal
representatives and employees of estate. On petition or appropriate motion of an interested
person, and after notice to all interested persons, the propriety of employment of any person
by a personal representative including any attorney, auditor (who may include certified public
accountants, public accountants, or internal auditors), investment advisor, or other specialized
agent or assistant, the reasonableness of the compensation of any person so employed, or the
reasonableness of the compensation determined by the personal representative for the personal
representative's own services, may be reviewed by the court. Any person who has received excessive
compensation from an estate for services rendered may be ordered to make appropriate refunds.

Section 43-8-113 Source, determination and documentation of exempt property and allowances;
petition for relief by personal representative or interested person. If the estate is otherwise
sufficient, property specifically devised is not used to satisfy rights to homestead and exempt
property. Subject to this restriction, the surviving spouse, the guardians of the minor children,

Section 26-2A-53 Request for notice; interested person. Upon payment of any required fee, an
interested person who desires to be notified before any order is made in a guardianship proceeding,
including any proceeding subsequent to the appointment of a guardian under Section 26-2A-111,
or in a protective proceeding under Section 26-2A-130, may file a request for notice with
the clerk of the court in which the proceeding is pending. The clerk shall mail a copy of
the request to the guardian and to the conservator if one has been appointed. A request is
not effective unless it contains a statement showing the interest of the person making it

Section 12-1-14.1 Appointment of special judge upon request; temporary service. (a) At the
request of the affected judge in a particular circuit, the presiding circuit court judge of
the circuit may appoint and commission a special circuit court judge, special district court
judge, or special judge of probate for temporary service. The person so appointed shall possess
the qualifications of the judgeship to which he or she is appointed. The special judge shall
qualify by taking the oath of office prescribed in the Constitution of Alabama of 1901. The
appointment shall confer on the special judge all powers, authority, and jurisdiction of the
