Section 41-9-982 Commission - Composition. (a) The commission shall be composed of 20
members as follows: (1) A member of the Senate appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the
Senate. (2) A member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House.
(3) The State Superintendent of Education. (4) Five representatives from the Postsecondary
Education System appointed by the State Board of Education. (5) Twelve members of the public
appointed by the Governor. The public members shall be residents of Alabama, with broad geographic
representation, who have a personal interest or experience in the Holocaust or other genocide
or human rights issue; have experience in the field of Holocaust education; or are liberators

registration requirements; powers and duties of authorizers. (a) Eligible authorizing entities.
(1) A public charter school shall not be established in this state unless its establishment
is authorized by this section. No governmental entity or other entity, other than an
entity expressly granted chartering authority as set forth in this section, may assume

Section 34-21-2 Board of Nursing generally. (a) There is created the Board of Nursing,
which shall be composed of 13 members to be appointed and have the duties and powers enumerated

Legislature finds that Alabama is alone among the southern states in not testing teacher candidates
before allowing them in the classroom, and acknowledges that the need exists to establish,
maintain, and enforce minimum professional standards for teacher candidates in the State of

Section 45-37-40.02 Barber commission. (a) There shall be a barber commission for the
county consisting of three members, one of whom shall be black, herein at times referred to
as the commission. The present members of the commission having been previously appointed
by the county commission, shall serve for the duration of their term, but in the event of
a vacancy existing at the time of taking effect of this section or occurring in the
