Section 45-5-141.20 Powers and duties; annual dues; board of trustees; referendum election.
(a) This section shall apply only in Blount County. (b) A district for the delivery
of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county
pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors
who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval
of the mandatory annual dues of the district. (c) In order to call for a referendum election
for the formation of a district, a petition signed by not less than 20 percent of the registered
voters who reside in the proposed district shall be presented to the county commission and
the Judge of Probate of Blount County. The petition shall contain an accurate legal description
of the proposed area and shall state the name of the proposed district. The petition for the

Section 15-23-4 Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission - Created; composition;
meetings; rules and regulations; bond; compensation. (a) There is hereby created the Alabama
Crime Victims Compensation Commission, which shall be composed of three citizens of the State
of Alabama, who shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate,
for terms of four years each or until their successors are appointed and qualified. Provided
however, initial appointments shall be as follows: One member shall be appointed for two years,
one member shall be appointed for three years and one member shall be appointed for four years.

Section 34-27B-5 State Board of Respiratory Therapy - Created; composition; liability
of members; terms; meetings; expense reimbursement and per diem allowance. (a) The Alabama
State Board of Respiratory Therapy is created to implement and administer this chapter and
shall be composed of five members appointed by the Governor. Three of the members shall be
respiratory therapists, one member shall be the chief executive officer of a hospital, and
one member shall be a physician. The respiratory therapist members of the board appointed
by the Governor shall be selected from a list of names submitted by the Alabama Society for
Respiratory Care. The list shall include two names for each appointed position to be filled.
