Section 13A-8-199 Civil action for violation of chapter. (a) In addition to any other remedies
provided by law, a victim who has suffered loss as a result of a criminal violation of this
article may bring an action in his or her county of residence or any county in which any part
of the crime took place, regardless of whether the defendant who committed the criminal violation
was ever actually present in that county, against the defendant to recover the following:
(1) Five thousand dollars ($5,000) for each incident, or three times the actual damages, whichever
is greater. (2) Reasonable attorney's fees and court costs. (b) The statute of limitations
for cases under this section shall be seven years from the earlier of the date of discovery

Section 8-9B-8 Remedies of creditor. (a) In an action for relief against a transfer under this
chapter, a creditor, subject to the limitations in Section 8-9B-9, may obtain: (1) avoidance
of the transfer to the extent necessary to satisfy the creditor's claim; (2) an attachment
or other provisional remedy against the asset transferred or other property of the transferee
if available under applicable law; and (3) subject to applicable principles of equity and
in accordance with applicable rules of civil procedure: (i) an injunction against further
disposition by the debtor or a transferee, or both, of the asset transferred or of other property;

Section 8-6-2 Definitions. When used in this article, unless the context otherwise requires,
the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

Section 15-23-3 Definitions. As used in this article the following words shall include, but

Section 13A-6-157 Civil action by victims; venue; relief awarded. (a) An individual who is
a victim of human trafficking may bring a civil action in the appropriate state court. (b)
Venue for any action brought under this section shall be in the county in which the offense
was committed or in any other county into or through which the person upon whom it was committed
may have been carried in the commission of the offense. If venue is proper in more than one
county, venue shall be in either county. (c) The court may award actual damages, compensatory
