Section 16-5-52 THIS SECTION WAS ASSIGNED BY THE CODE COMMISSIONER IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION,
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. For the purposes of this
article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) APPROVED INSTITUTION.
A state-supported institution of higher education or a private nonprofit institution of higher
education that satisfies all of the following: a. Is accredited by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. b. Is approved by the State Board of Education
or the State Department of Education to prepare teachers of secondary math or science, or
both. c. Is eligible to receive Title IV federal student aid program funds. d. Maintains its
primary headquarters in Alabama. (2) COMMISSION. The Alabama Commission on Higher Education.
(3) ELIGIBLE APPLICANT. A person who satisfies the criteria set out in this article and is

Section 16-6F-6 Authorization of establishment; Alabama Public Charter School Commission; registration
requirements; powers and duties of authorizers. (a) Eligible authorizing entities. (1) A public
charter school shall not be established in this state unless its establishment is authorized

Section 30-6-1 Definitions. In this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings

Section 31-14-3 Creation; composition; meetings; compensation; powers and duties. (a) There
is created the Alabama Job Creation and Military Stability Commission. Members of the commission

Section 31-2-87 Supervision and command of National Guard organizations jointly maintained
with other states for training and instruction. For the purpose of coordinating and making
more effective the field and similar classes of instruction and training in organizations
of the National Guard jointly maintained by Alabama and another state or other states during
periods of field or similar training as provided under the National Defense Act, the units
and personnel of the Alabama National Guard may, if authorized by the federal government,

Section 45-37-230.01 Subsistence allowance for certain law enforcement officers. (a) Any nonelected
law enforcement officer, including the sheriff's executive assistant, who is employed by the
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department on a full-time basis, shall receive a subsistence allowance
of eight dollars for each working day of a pay period while engaged in the performance of
his or her duties as a law enforcement officer. This allowance shall be in addition to all
other compensation, expenses, and allowance provided for such officers. Provided, however,
that this subsistence allowance shall remain in effect only as long as any portion of the
one-half percent occupational tax passed by the Jefferson County Commission in ordinance #1120
