Section 16-17-7 Powers of authority. The authority shall have the following powers,
together with all powers incidental thereto or necessary to the discharge thereof in corporate
form: (1) To have succession by its corporate name for the duration of time (which may be
in perpetuity, subject to the provisions of Section 16-17-19) specified in its certificate
of incorporation; (2) To sue and be sued in its own name in civil actions and to defend actions
against it; (3) To adopt and make use of a corporate seal and to alter the same at pleasure;
(4) To adopt and alter bylaws for the regulation and conduct of its affairs and business;

Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a)
As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them
as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association,
limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State

Section 11-92A-15 Security for bonds. (a) In the discretion of the board of directors
of an authority, any bonds may be secured by an indenture between an authority and a trustee,
which may be any trust company or bank having trust powers, whether such trust company or
bank is located within or without the state. In any such indenture or resolution providing
for the issuance of bonds an authority may pledge, for payment of the principal of and the

Section 16-65-6 Bonds generally. (a) Issuance of bonds. The authority is authorized
and empowered to issue its bonds from time to time for the purpose of making equipment loans
to finance equipment costs incurred or to be incurred by educational institutions. Such bonds
may be in such aggregate principal amount as the board of directors shall determine to be
