Section 11-89A-6 Board of directors of authority; election; terms of office; vacancies; qualifications; expenses; meetings; notice and waiver; resolutions; impeachment. (a) Each authority shall have a board of directors composed of the number of directors provided in the certificate of incorporation, as most recently amended; provided, however, that in the case of any authority in existence and incorporated prior to May 11, 1989, the board shall consist of three directors who shall be elected by the governing body of the determining subdivision for staggered terms in accordance with the provisions of law as it existed immediately prior to the aforesaid effective date unless such authority shall otherwise amend its certificate of incorporation pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-89A-5. (a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this article, and knowingly or deliberately fails to obtain such a license or permit. (a) Every insurer authorized to write and engaged in writing, on a direct basis, fire and extended coverage insurance in Alabama shall be and remain a member of the Alabama Insurance Underwriting Association, an unincorporated nonprofit joint underwriting association organized in 1970 and in continuous existence from 1970 through November 1, 2008. The Governor, on behalf of this state, is hereby authorized to execute a compact in substantially the following form with the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, and the legislature hereby signifies in advance its approval and ratification of such compact, which compact is as follows: Southern High-Speed Rail Commission.
