Section 41-6-100 Definitions. As used in this article the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) NHPRC. The National Historical Publications and Records Commission is a federal statutory body affiliated with the United States National Archives and Records Administration. It provides grant funds for a wide range of activities to preserve, publish, and encourage the use of documentary sources relating to the history of the United States. (2) AHRC. The Alabama Historical Records Coordinator is designated as the full-time professional official in charge of the Alabama Department of Archives and History and is the central coordinating officer for the NHPRC historical records grant program in the state. Section 9-15-78 Bids to be publicly taken by director; notice; bids to become public record. The bids shall be publicly taken or opened in Montgomery or such other place as may be designated by the Lands Division, in case of sealed bids, by the Director of the Lands Division of the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources or his or her designee and the department, board, bureau, commission, institution, corporation, or agency selling the property may have a representative present. All bonds of officials and employees required under the provisions of this title shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Alabama and, unless otherwise provided, approved by the State Superintendent of Education.
