Section 40-9-25.22 Southern Research Institute. (a) The Southern Research Institute is exempted from paying any state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes. (b) The Southern Research Institute shall file an annual informational report in a manner as prescribed by the Department of Revenue. The information on such reports shall be consistent with the information required by the Department of Revenue pursuant to Section 40-9-61 and rules promulgated thereunder. (a) In determining the number of teacher units for the purpose of apportioning the state Foundation Program, one teacher unit or fraction thereof shall be allowed for the specified number of pupils in average daily membership as provided for in subsection (b), during the first 20 scholastic days following Labor Day of the preceding school year in the public schools.
