Section 22-11A-26 Commitment petition - Probate judge may take sworn testimony of petitioner;
petition without merit to be dismissed. When any petition is filed, seeking to commit any
person to the custody of the Alabama Department of Public Health, the probate judge shall
immediately review the petition and may require the petitioner to be sworn in and to answer,
under oath, questions regarding the petition and the person sought to be committed. If it

Section 45-8-120.17 Petition for review of board action. Any party, including the county commission
and county appointing authorities, aggrieved by a final action of the board, shall be entitled
to a review of the action by filing a petition in the Circuit Court of Calhoun County within
30 days after the action is taken. Upon the filing of any petition, notice shall also be served
upon the chairperson of the board by the petitioner. The petitioner shall be heard by the

The authority and the executive head of any agency, board, commission, public corporation,
bureau or department of the State of Alabama, or the successor in office and duties of such
