Section 41-23-254 Alabama Research and Development Enhancement Oversight Committee. (a) The Alabama Research and Development Enhancement Oversight Committee is created. The committee shall consist of the Chair of the House Ways and Means Education Committee or designee, the Chair of the Senate Finance and Taxation Education Committee or designee, two members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, two members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the Director of ADECA or his or her designee. (a) The Director of ADECA may establish and administer the broadband accessibility grant program for the purpose of promoting the deployment and adoption of broadband Internet access services to unserved areas. (a) The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) Planning and Economic Development Division shall perform the centralized administrative and recordkeeping functions for the authority.
