Section 41-23-213 Grant program; rulemaking authority; Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund. (a) The Director of ADECA may establish and administer the broadband accessibility grant program for the purpose of promoting the deployment and adoption of broadband Internet access services to unserved areas. By June 26, 2018, the director shall adopt rules and policies to administer the program and begin to accept applications for grants, and shall adopt such rules as may be necessary to meet the future needs of the grant program. (b) The program shall be administered pursuant to policies developed by ADECA in compliance with this article. The policies shall provide for the awarding of grants to non-governmental entities that are cooperatives, corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, or other private business entities that provide broadband services. Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal, state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of construction trade education. Section 27-31E-2 Strengthen Alabama Homes Program; grants, funding. (a) There is established within the Department of Insurance, the Strengthen Alabama Homes Program. (b) There is established the Strengthen Alabama Homes Fund within the State Treasury for the use of the department to administer the program. (c) This chapter does not create an entitlement for property owners or obligate the state in any way to fund the inspection or retrofitting of residential property in this state.
