Section 22-40A-3 Definitions. The following terms shall have the following meanings unless
the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) APPROVED. Authorized, certified, permitted by,
or meets standards of a regulatory authority. (2) AUTHORIZED DISPOSAL. For purposes of this
chapter only, authorized disposal shall be the deposit of a tire in a landfill properly permitted
to accept tires and tire materials for disposal. (3) CLEANUP. For purposes of this chapter,
cleanup means the cleaning up, remediation, control, or removal of scrap tires from the environment.
(4) CONSUMER. a. For purposes of this chapter a consumer is defined as either: 1. A retail
purchaser. 2. A dealer who buys a tire to be installed on a vehicle for resale. b. A wholesale
purchaser who buys tires for resale is not considered a consumer. (5) DEPARTMENT. The Alabama
Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) or its successor organization or organizations

Section 23-7-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have

Section 34-2A-1 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the
following meanings: (1) ASSISTED LIVING ADMINISTRATOR. Any individual who is charged with
the general administration of an assisted living facility or a speciality care assisted living

Section 36-1A-5 Participation limited to voluntary, charitable, health and human care federations
and agencies with a substantial local presence. (a) Participation in the Alabama State Employee
Combined Charitable Campaign shall be limited to voluntary, charitable, health and human care
federations and agencies with a substantial local presence that provide or support direct
health and welfare services to individuals or their families and meet the criteria set forth
in this section. "Substantial local presence" is defined as a facility, staffed
by professionals or volunteers, available to provide its services and open at least 15 hours
a week. Such services must be available to state employees in the local campaign community,
