Section 36-21-13 Compensation for injury to police officer utilized by state department or agency; injury review boards. (a) For purposes of this section, a "state police officer" is a full-time law enforcement officer of any state agency, department, board, commission, or institution, including full-time correctional officers of the Department of Corrections, who is certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission and who has no limited authority within the state except as otherwise provided by law. Section 45-37-243.13 Violations. Any person violating this subpart or rules or regulations of the board of revenue, county commission, or like governing body of such counties, adopted hereunder shall on the first conviction be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100); and on the second conviction shall be fined not less than two hundred dollars ($200); and on the third or any subsequent conviction the fine shall not be less than five hundred dollars ($500) and as additional punishment the court may impose a hard labor sentence not to exceed six months.
