Section 25-5-316 Workers' Compensation Administrative Trust Fund; creation; management; trustee and custodian; assessments; penalties. (a) There is established in the State Treasury a fund entitled the Workers' Compensation Administrative Trust Fund, into which shall be deposited certain assessments provided under Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 25-5-1) of Title 25 collected by the Department of Labor. The fund shall constitute a separate fund to be disbursed by the state Comptroller on order of the Secretary of the Department of Labor. (a)(1) Each Alabama resident individual income taxpayer desiring to contribute to any of the programs listed in subsection (b) may designate an amount of his or her refund, rounded off in whole dollars, in an appropriate box on the state income tax return form, to be credited to the program.
