Section 45-49A-64.01 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, shall be given the following respective interpretations herein. (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application with the governing body of any municipality to which this part applies all in accordance with Section 45-49A-64.03. (2) AUTHORITY. A public corporation organized pursuant to this part. (3) AUTHORIZING MUNICIPALITY. Any municipality the governing body of which shall have adopted an authorizing resolution. (4) AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION. A resolution, adopted by the governing body of any municipality to which this part applies all in accordance with Section 45-49A-64.03, that authorizes the incorporation of an authority. (5) BOARD. Section 24-1-23 Procedure for incorporation of authority; boundaries of authority; denial of petition for incorporation; resubmission of petition after denial. Any 25 residents of a city or of the area within 10 miles from the territorial boundaries thereof may file a petition with the city clerk setting forth that there is a need for an authority to function in the city and the surrounding area. (a) There is hereby established the Historic Tax Credit Evaluating Committee, which shall review qualifying projects, approve credits for projects, and rank projects in the order in which the projects should receive tax credit reservations based on criteria established by the commission. Section 45-49A-83 Prichard Communication Authority. (a) There is created the Prichard Communication Authority. (b)(1) The authority shall be governed by a board of directors consisting of five members who shall be appointed by the mayor. Vacancies on the board shall be appointed by the mayor.
