Section 40-18-370 Short title; legislative findings; definitions. (a) This article shall be known and may be cited as the Alabama Jobs Act. (b) The Legislature makes the following findings: (1) The economic well-being of the citizens of the state will be enhanced by the increased development and growth of employment within Alabama. (2) It is in the best interests of the state to provide certain incentives to allow the state to foster economic development through the recruitment of quality projects and the expansion of existing businesses within Alabama. (3) The incentives provided for in this article do not raise any taxes for any individuals or businesses in Alabama under state law. (4) The incentives provided in this article will allow the state to encourage the creation of new jobs that may not otherwise exist within the State of Alabama. Section 8-17-91 Disposition of funds; overpayments. (a) The proceeds from the permit fees, inspection fees, and penalties, if any, collected by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries and the Revenue Commissioner pursuant to Section 8-17-87 together with one-third of the proceeds of the six cent ($.06) additional motor fuel excise tax levied on gasoline under subdivision (1) of subsection (a) of Section 40-17-325, shall be paid into the State Treasury and distributed by the State Treasurer as follows: (1) An amount equal to five percent or no less than $175,000, whichever is greater, of the combined proceeds received each month shall accrue to the credit of, and be deposited in, the Agricultural Fund; and (2) The balance of the proceeds shall be distributed as follows: a. 13.87 percent of the balance of the proceeds shall be distributed equally among each of the 67 counties of the state monthly. Section 24-1A-7 Proceeds from sale of bonds; use; issuance procedures; distribution percentages; allocation of proceeds available for single family mortgage loans. (a) All moneys derived from the sale of any bonds issued by the authority shall be used solely for the purpose or purposes for which the same are authorized, including costs and expenses of issue. (a) The County Commission of Jefferson County shall have authority, after notice as provided herein, to move or demolish buildings and structures, or parts of buildings and structures, party walls, and foundations when the same are found by the county commission to be unsafe to the extent of being a public nuisance from any cause.
